š„£ Ingredients Youāll Need
(Family-friendly and simple ā no professional baker skills needed)
200g self-raising flour
200g caster sugar
200g unsalted butter (softened)
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
For the icing:
100g dark chocolate (melted)
100g icing sugar
50g butter
1 tablespoon milk

Instructions
1. Preheat & Prepare
Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan). Grease and line two 20cm round cake tins.
2. Mix the Batter
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one by one, mixing after each. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Add milk and vanilla, then gently mix until smooth.

3. Bake
Divide the mixture evenly between the two tins. Bake for 20ā25 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Let cool completely on a wire rack.

Melt chocolate and butter together over low heat.Stir in icing sugar and milk until smooth. Spread icing between the layers and over the top of the cake.
